They call him DR. OCTOPUS!!
I don't remember why or how this idea popped into my head. I was just drawing, and I though of doctor octopus having a back pack like thingy with REAL octopus tentacle coming out of his back. Being a scientist, I put him into a yellow hazmat suit, also coinciding with his original colors of yellow and green, adding the green tint to his goggles.
Overall I really like this picture. I feel it's a lot of fun, i had a lot of fun drawing it, I like the colors, and most importantly it shows improvement!
I even threw in my original pencil sketch. Photoshop however makes better artists out of all of us. I personally feel it's because it's an easier version of tracing paper. I feel I could have gotten the above result, but after tracing it and tracing it and tracing it. so in instances like this im grateful it sped up the process and saved some wildlife. On the other hand, I want to eventually be a traditionalist, learning to do al of it from start to finish on paper.
As an aspiring artist, I'm always looking on how I can improve my stuff. Even the pictures i may be proud of like this one. As i looked back on it, I saw some things I could fix. I made the adjustments and decided to post the notes about it for anyone who cares to see the things I look for to make the picture better and even discipline myself to notice them when I draw a picture the first time around.
Enjoy Doctor Octopus!

Human Torch and Giant Chicken!
Here's a little exersize i did with my buddy Chris Jimenez (http://chris-jimenez.blogspot.com/) where we gave eachother a random person, place, and item and we had to create a scene involving the three.
This particular exercise was to show a sequence in three panels. This is the third of those panels I did, but I felt this specific panel tells a good enough story standing on it's own.
I was given the Human Torch, a volcano, and a wishbone. In an epic battle against a giant chicken, the human torch bursts out of the volcano ripping the wishbone right out of that punk-headed poultry.
Haha. hope you all enjoy it!

Link_Navi_Zelda
Just a small intimate little picture between Link and Navi his borrowed li'l fairy.
If the problem you have with is is the coloring, then you're right there with me, because I don't know what I'm doing. I have no idea how to paint in or outside photoshop. so I am totally experimenting. Get over it.
Overall I like it, but there are some things I see as I look at it right now that don't sit right with me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Well, nevertheless I hope you all enjoy it!

The Man In the Iron Mask
Here's the piece I did for my brother's (Mike Collins) collaborative art book. (creativeaces.blogpsot.com and/or tikimachine.blogspot.com)
My piece was The Man In the Iron Mask. Here's my picture! you can see I decided to go with something different than the initial layout. I hope it worked.
Going counter-clockwise, starting with the man in the iron mask (Philippe); D'artagnan, Porthos, Aramis, Athos, then to the otherside, Athos' son Raoul, his fiance La Valliere, then a sword fight by D'artagnan, and the King Louis XIV.
Hope y'all enjoy!
